Would someone become surprised to even hear that Windows demand and surrounding market is rapidly dying? Since 2008 recession, demand on desktop and laptop gradually decreased, and moved on to this fancy new cheap netbook. And Google, novice in OS system market, literally pushing way far than Microsoft ever has done: webOS for netbooks. Now no one buys PCs, even Macs, but Apple inc. has iPad. What about Microsoft? Another simple update about advertisement
I just got an email about advertisements and website, saying new-formatted tea party wouldn’t fit in their screen. Sorry, but only solution ever available for you, and rest of people who might have same problem, is essentially upgrading one’s computer. Please, please keep your computer up-to-date. We cannot keep support 1024×768 screens forever.
What we tried to do, with last update which we wrote couple of hours ago, was full-integration of HD website. In other words, website would fill the HD screen, so that reader with better resolution wouldn’t have any problems with reading our posts. Of course, we looked for solution to a non-HD monitors, but again, ultimate answer to this is asking reader to keep their gadgets updated.
Even most basic laptops come out with 800p HD resolution. It doesn’t look so much different from length, but HD has 16:9 ratio, which makes larger width of monitor: 1200×800. And that number of 176 pixels make huge difference in reading experience.
We rolled back the update, and now you should be able to see the website under 1024×768 screen. -though one will have to scroll frequently- Again, we will not continue on supporting non-HD screen, and though one will have to screen even left to right, there should not be any problem with reading itself. If website doesn’t show up on your browser, then let us know.
About advertisements & sponsorships on tea party, again thanks for choosing tea party as your partner, we hope the best for both of us. As we write, we are looking forward to adjust website to fit in to HD resoultion. As a result, you will have following ad units: 300×250, 125×125, 728×80. After the adjustment is done, we will post about new pricing, and new advertisement program available on tea party. Thanks for your interest.
Last thing, pricing won’t change till Tea Party is officially registered to buysellads.com. BuySellAds.com is a website, or online ad market, where we can trade, publish ads. Before BuySellAds approves us, pricing will not change until there is further announcement. -R
One small update: URL address has been changed to www.ruined-world.com
I do not know how many of you actually noticed this, but then Mad Tea Party kept the name and address ‘ruined-world.com’ for several years. Now the difference will be, or I should say, update will be, there will be www in front of the address. So if you were typing ruined-world.com to get in to tea party, your browser -firefox, google chrome, safari, internet explorer, and etc.- will let you redirect to this website. Some of the cour features might not work properly with new website, so if you happened to discover any troubles, bugs, whatever that seems odd and out of place, let us know.
The reason for the update is mainly because there were some disputes, technical difficulties with address. Many of us, which may include you, tend to think website without www lacks credibility, and many readers, thanks again for letting us know, that by putting www in front of the address, first-time visitor wouldn’t necessarily freak out by not having one. And for some SSN -facebook, G+, Twitter, and etc.- did not want to approve us for not having world wide web approval signature, which we as an editor and techincal administrator of tea party wouldn’t agree with, and that was another problem. Biggest problem of all would be, some of browsers warn users for going into none-www website, which doesn’t make any sense, since this website should not have any kinds of with any browsers, for we have been using WordPress, one of the wide-spread blog tool to publish posts and ideas. But again, there are old browsers that just have problem with it, and we do not want to run another set of campaign how to put zombie IE6 back in to tomb.
Now here is the thing: URL address change is quite simple under WordPress’s nature, but then complexity of this website exceeeded, at least as an editors, our understanding. There are group of people we constantly contact for help, basically technical support and advice on this website, and they have been greatly helpful on this matter, but also was quite distracting that we need to call them again and again to become this far stable. By any slightest chance to remember, first tea party website was crashing every hour, had to fix the code everysingle day. And again, that was bad old days, not good ones.
So thanks for being patients for letting us adopt WWW in front of our URL, and again thanks for letting us know about WWW trends. We would apperciate any comments, ideas, opinions about this website. -R
Going paperless? Hell of Works for impossibility
The world has changed -everything from paper to LCD. The days of computer have dawned, and many have decided to move on to new movement: green paperless. Cutting down the trees is no longer civil service, rather destruction of ecology. No more papers in courtrooms, but free iPads for judges. No more papers in office, business, school, and etc; lists piled up everywhere.
Personally I do not like papers. It’s not that I don’t want to read, but rather the feeling, the texture of the papers, which I hate the most. By any chance, if you had to use cheap, almost transparent papers in office, you would know what I am saying. Papers, though depend greatly, have this undeniably changing qualities. They stay readable for centuries, and yet that particular paper must have cost few more dollars do produce. In other words, papers are not ultimate tool to read; unless you are the one who decides which paper to buy, don’t ever say paper rocks.
But then there is a problem, a huge problem, papers almost cost anything to buy, but monitors do cost somewhat for business and office. It’s also the problem that will vary, but most likely, paper-based firm will need need infrastructure that is fixed to digital formats. Let me put it this way: someone gotta get engineer to build database, type in all the papers. That is hell of works, and due to physical limitation of paperless, someone will have to constantly update database. I have seen thousands, millions of database, just getting rusty. Who will hire those people?
Continuing on database, Apple, Amazon, and Google, these three companies have some similarities in their business. They have done wonderful job on building database. Some of infos might be outdated, but then there is also some other information that is updated wonderfully. At least they have phone numbers to ring the bell, how they messed up; most of rusty databases don’t even have number to call. Answer is quite simple. It is hard job, time consuming work to maintain such giant database. Look at these three companies -Apple, Amazon, and Google- they make profits out of database, and that is probably only incentives for them to keep it running.
Another problem is, for those who are not used to paperless, wants to see stuffs physically on many screens. That includes me, I am always in need of huge screen, not just one, usually two, to compare documents, make notes of it, call offices for correction and etc. But again, I must argue 2 monitors are not really enough for anyone: I am not the guy with paper piles, probably someone else. Depends on the offices, but usually old-timed worker loves to work with thousands of papers on walls, desks, everywhere. Not just contrasting, they put post-it in every single note they find. Only disagreement on this multi-tasking works would be that still the paperless consumes lesser time than papers.
Now Let’s take a look at iPad. It is wonderful gadget with touchscreen, which is perfect for analogue-styled user. Nonetheless, Apple has achieved something in UI and UX; no one needs to read instructions and directions to use iPad. But then, how many times one would use more than one page? Under what circumstances, would on be satisfied with one page per one screen? Obviously unless you are the one who writes, and even you are the one who writes all the papers, it’s more likely that one will need more screens – more iPads, more budgets, more troubles.
Despite the fact that Apple has done wonderful work with iPad, there is another problem with iPad, there isn’t such app that will sync more than 2 iPad into connected screen. One might need to read more than 2 reports in same minute. iPad, by it’s own nature, unless user chose to run mor than 2 apps, user must click the screen couple of times to go over to other documents; impossible to read more than 2 reports in one time. There might be, some day, one weird developer comes out with such app. Though frustrating, we all will agree, that there are problems money just can’t solve: unless you want to spend another million dollars to these developers.
Take another glimpse at paperless. Are you sure you are ready for it? It takes more than just one to truly achieve paperless. Though after hard work, a firm will yield its fruits.
AOL and Yahoo planning to merge, creating giant ‘Awfulness’
For some, might not even know the name of AOL, I must start saying ‘do you know Yahoo?’ Both company, AOL and Yahoo are getting closer to apocalypse, which means in Greek, revealing Google to the world. -Seriously, it reveals monopolistic one company, not two or three-
Gizmodo and Bloomberg are reporting spontaneously how this merge will end ‘awfully.’ Gizmodo, apparently mocking them with new innovative ideas of new YaAOL icons, expected how both Yahoo and AOL will be ruined after the merge. Bloomberg, rather not to give any expectations, pointed out both companies might take such move.
The reason, which is rather unknown, why Yahoo failing is quite popular. Because none of people actually see ‘why should they choose to use Yahoo.’ And yet, deciding to merge AOL and Yahoo, is something I would call ‘summon of 4 horsemen.’
Gizmodo, again disagreeing with merge, left powerful comment on this matter.
Put another way: mixing yellow and blue gets you green, sure. But mixing shit and shit gets you a slightly different shade of shit.
Noise Marketing? Apple needs ‘Security Manager’
After following incidents and incidents, Apple is now looking for special ‘product security manager.’ For those who have not read it, Apple has just lost another iPhone 5 prototype in another bar. Last year prototype of iPhone 4 lost in bar, was later purchased by Gizmodo.
According to New York Times, one with following qualities will get a job.
Simultaneously working with multiple constituencies, balancing disparate priorities, problem solving in high-demand situations, defining and establishing attainable measures of success, and regularly achieving positive outcomes in large-scale business environments.
Accurately assessing physical and logical security implementations and making actionable risk management recommendations that consider impact on corporate culture, business operations, system architectures, manufacturing processes, and employee workflows.
Minimum Wage, and its Traditional Conception
Alan Krueger, currently appointed as a chairman of economic adviser, made an interesting argument about minimum wage: the number of jobs does not reduce by increase of minimum wage. It is very challenging argument, but as far as what he studied, in fast food industries, teen employments were not affected by minimum wage.
This is where it all gets fun. Tim Worstall, journalist of Forbes, started off his counter-argument. -of course in Forbes-
The full academic to and fro is ably described by Susan Adams here. I, and I admit to a bias here, would say that the paper has been shown to be at least not proven even if saying it has been shown to be wrong is too strong.
1st Apple Store opening in Hong Kong
Apple inc., after getting ripped of from pirated Apple Store in China, appears to choose to expand more Apple Store in land. Apple spokeswoman in China, Carolyn Wu, replied Apple will open its Hong Kong store in International Finance Center. She also added, Apple will open another Shanghai Apple Store by the end of the year.
Reuters | Apple to open first Hong Kong store this quarter
Apple, which has four stores on mainland China, will open its Hong Kong store in the International Finance Center this quarter, said Carolyn Wu, a Beijing-based Apple spokeswoman.
Okay, now this is my policy
I have gone through this, I’ve used G+, Twitter, Facebook, etc. and etc. Perfect. But I find G+ to be frustrating, all the features, added and erased, and some of them are just vulnerable: like circles. Twitter, which has been my most admirable SSN for long, but found to be…. rather cruel on ‘strange opinions,’ now I kinda half-quit twitter. Including Facebook, that is.
Now this is what I am thinking, I will not be commenting any of twitter, G+, Facebook, myspace, whatsoever it is, unless someone actually ‘wanted’ to speak with me -like mentioning me in G+ or Twitter. I will be publishing what I have recently written in blog to twitter and G+, and as usual, I will “please comment in actual blog” as well.
But please, don’t tell me that it seems I am avoiding SSN. Because I do. -R
How much impact on Game Market?: Departure & Confidence
After the Jobs decided, or to correct myself, declared he will leave Apple, -though he will stay as chairman- he literally picked Tim Cook to be his successor. Cook, though he was in control of Apple ever since Jobs have struggled with his health issues, was questioned to become a CEO of Apple. Is he the right person to put in charge of 2nd largest company in the world?
Some analyst might disagree -which we can discuss later- but apparently, ios game market responses optimistically.
Indsustrygamers | iPhone Developers Give Apple Vote of Confidence in Wake of Jobs Departure
“The amazing renaissance of the independent game developer we are experiencing is the unquestionable responsibility of Steve Jobs. It may not have been what he was aiming at but the disruption to the game development business has been profound and irreversible. Steve’s departure gives us all pause, no doubt, but I am sure his impact will endure. After all, there’s no reason to believe he hasn’t chosen his successor with as much attention to detail as everything else he did,” added David Whatley of Simutronics.

Steve Jobs resignes
There aren’t lots to say about his resignation. For years, people were wondering about when exactly Jobs would ‘quit’ his work in Apple, like Bill Gates did with Microsoft. And Ballmer, current CEO of Microsoft, has done wonderful job in creating his own image of being a CEO of Microsoft, making another sensations and experiences for users. Personally I believe Ballmer has created a value, a value of using Microsoft products. If Bill Gates was a father of Microsoft, I can call Ballmer is definitely a mother of Microsoft. He is creating new company, once called Microsoft, growing in such a way we couldn’t expect it to become.
Now we are looking at Steve Jobs, returned dictator from past. Though he had created, innovated, tech market for several years, he had been known as mercy-less dictator, instead of innovator. When he returned, which can be refereed as sweet emergency and victory call for Apple, he now had some ideas about what is business, what is tech market, and what Apple is. He craved it, changed it, and now brought it to the new world.
Unlike Gates did, Jobs has done this on his own; but no matter what, his return is predicated to last short time. Jobs may have become one of influential, and powerful business leader, what did Apple have? That is the question, which Apple struggled years to answer.
Cook, Jobs’ predecessor, has shown his face to keynote and major events run by Apple as a temporary-representative of the company. But every time he did, he failed to emphasize what Apple will offer to its user, to its customer: how will Apple product change the market, and why you want to buy it. Has anyone noticed, by slightest chance, that what all he said on keynote did not have much of potential as Jobs did? When Jobs brought out with new phone, he joked about ipod+phone, he mocked about smartphone, he ridiculed the market, and belittled analysts. But what about Cook? Did he achieve something, that is even related to it?
I must argue, as both tech blogger and apple product user, if Cook fails to innovate, if Cook fails the user, Apple will fall. Rapidly. -R

Google has closed Google Dictionry: now only defines it
My personal preference of Google no. 1 was always dictionary. Right now since I am seeing all the reference Google has been using, it really belittles the credit that I gave to Google. But Google had interesting ideas about dictionary; defining a word in different language with all the stuffs I would need. Let’s say I want to define Apple in Korean, it would give me something like 사과 at the beginning, and below of it, it will explain thoroughly about what does it(apple) mean in Korean culture, and things to be aware of.
TNW Google | Google closes its Dictionary site, wants you to “search” for definitions instead
It seems the plug has been pulled on Google Dictionary. If you visit the website now, there is a simple ‘Google Dictionary is no longer available message’.
Let me summarize it in one sentence: this is where monopoly leads to. Ultimately, Google found it unprofitable, and as the other business would do, just close down the whole department and service. Unlike the other fields, since Google has very well profound base in search engine market, they are not afraid of cutting things off. Expanding Google brands in all IT markets, that’s the Google way. -R
