Is World going to END at May 21st, 2011?

Some of Christians have figured world will end at May 21st, so that we must be prepared. Details, I could not find, but certainly atheist groups are started to worry about the victim who will believe this, and prepare for this.

As soon as I get more information, I will be updating this page. -R

Induction and its relation to evolution and science

Induction is a method which most, actually every science is based upon. Unlike math, science is not something we can actually prove, as mathematicians do, such as 1+1=2. Anyone can prove the theorem by following the work of fellow mathematicians made. But science cam? No. Strictly saying, we do not have a single proof to prove sun will rise again tomorrow. Then again, how moronic idea it is to say giant tuna will rise tomorrow instead of sun.

Many of us are very confused with what is difference between scientific law and scientific theory. Scientific law is, for example, is like law of gravity. We already have a fact, which any objects are tend to drop instead of float. Then there is theories how gravity works and how gravity presences in real life. And then there is a law, mathematical law, to show how gravity affects the objects.

Let’s put this in to evolution. First, we do not have law of evolution. Because none of scientists ever dare to say new species will come out after certain periods of time. There is no -at least at this point of time- formula to calculate how long will it take to see new species. Second, we do have theory of evolution, which is natural selection. Darwin did not say we just happen to evolve. But rather he said, we evolve through, or using natural selection. -and I hope you already know what it is- Darwin’s theory of evolution is natural selection. Third, we do have, actually too many facts, or evidence to prove natural selection, -which I am not intended to explain on this part of page, but- such as fossils.

How about “creationism?” Does it imply something? Does it explain something? Actually, strictly speaking, every single time when Christians harden their religious nonsense, it becomes more un-scientific. Because every theory, -since creationist claims creationism can replace natural selection and evolution- must have some ways to disprove it.

I understand. It is too ungodly to ever begin thinking. Isn’t it? -R

Miracles & Absence of God

Many religions, including Christianity, not only Roman Catholics but also Protestants, believe miracles are being done constantly by god. Literally means, Christians -who would else look for facts and science in religion?- even the very common coincidence, what we call luck, consider hand of god is reaching, blessing them with his holy work.

But using law of economics and logics, we may figure the blessings from divine are not actually reaching at Earth. IT IS NOT HAPPENING. Let us assume there is a holy fountain drilled by god, curing even the most rare and deadly disease. To be really fair, it should cure the most common cold as well, but let us excuse god for that. Anyway, let’s just say there is such fountain. There are 2 possible results we can expect from sudden creation of fountain. -there isn’t any that has been proven working- Either medicine and all related industries will collapse with leaving catastrophe in human society, or so few are granted to be cured, none goes to the place any more. -how odd it sounds that one must be granted to be cured- Now look around the world. Is there a fountain diplomatically causing war and terror on Earth? Or is there just polluted old fountain?

It applies same to the Protestants as well. We don’t need work to make examples. Science is well found on base of an idea, which law of physics, or even chemistry, biology, or any other laws of science, will not be disturbed in any circumstances. An apple may fall to ground, and we can build a device to lift it, but it wouldn’t change the fact apple still falls. And any deity from any superstition, any myth can keep an apple in the middle of air forever. And we call it miracle. Because it is out of our understanding, an experience.

One must admit any religion still can argue “we are not just prepared to use such fountain.” Yeah, god doesn’t care about earthy beings anymore. Or will you say that particular polluted fountain is kept under secret by secret agencies? -R

Where does morality come from?

Often many Christians argue, without God, there will be nothing stopping us from killing each other, rapping each other, committing all gruesome crimes one can think of, and yet there will be no punishment. In other words, “What is it stopping from us, keeping from us to behave aggressively, or like they used to say, ungodly?”

An answer is rather simple. Because the question itself does contain the answer, since it contains paradox no one can answer. And like logicians used to say, if question is troubling you, ask question to that question.

“Will you commit all the crimes you just listed if there is no God?”

Unfortunately, some may still say yes. Which means, they are just like serious killer, but their bible is stopping from them to act like it. But many, -at least from my experience- would answer, WHAT?!, and then be calm.

Answering yes won’t help a bit, since it literally means how immoral they are, how animal-like they are. And yet, the fact that they wouldn’t just start killing each other, results their lack of articulating minds inside them before he or she speaks. What animal, by the way, would start annihilate other species or their companions? Simple calculation gives 2 answers: it is impossible and it is more efficient to walk with folks.

Science, once again, has proven that altruistic genes are not actually “altruistic,” but rather selfish enough to calculate out chances of surviving when they help each other, build societies instead of acting alone. For example, ants don’t need bible to build their imperialistic society, ruled by one queen. -Still ant, though-

Oh, and just one more thing. If Christians, or moron, say “why are you not answering my question, but responding with question?” then tell them “you moron, I just rephrased it, not answered it.” In other words, why did you even ask it? -R

What does it mean to be atheist?

The most frequently asked question of my life as an atheist was probably “what does it mean to be atheist?” I know, that it is hard to, almost struggling work to, imagine life without god or gods. For those whom didn’t have chance, Christianity offers redemption from sins. But what about atheism? Will it offer any psychological rest bed? Wouldn’t it make you disgusted about whole world? What does it mean to be atheist?

Answer is, rather simple. It is the way it is. Yes, believing in afterlife and meeting again with dearly friend and family would be comforting. But what about chance of being lost? What about chance of not going to heaven? What about a chance, which is kind of odd, that your friend or family wasn’t really human? Maybe they could have been angel, or messenger from god. What about all the chances? Does the fact after your death having all the deserved prize for eternity, not working but resting, ETERNALLY, comfort you? Well…. To be honest, it is rather hard to believe Christians tend to agree with capitalism, instead of socialism.

In other words, even there could be god and afterlife, that won’t affect your life, right now, right this present. Will god appear to you one day, and get you free insurance or pathway to successful life? No. At least from my understanding, you suppose to live on your own. You are his temple, glorifying his work by having successful life than the others. Atheism, does not. They only say, “God is not needed to live on this earth.” Almost same thing as, we need to terra-form Mars to live there. Does it sound odd to you? Once again, it is almost identical as saying “if you water the grass, it will grow.” You don’t need fairy or god of grass to grow your backyard grass field.

When I was a little boy, I did go to church regularly. It wasn’t so long, about a month or two. But it wasn’t comforting me anything, but nothing, inside there. Pastors and church members arguably said, “too late, if you have come earlier, you could have gone to heaven much easier.” Accepting the Christ and read bible every day was what all they asked. Yes, It doesn’t sound hard and scary, but rather helpful hand of neighbors. But back then, still now it is, their claim horrified me from the back of my mind, and led me to run away from it. Is it because the church was somehow corrupted, or misled the child? No, answer is no. At least, they had their bibles in their hand.

Nihilism, they call it, somehow suited concept for Christians to understand atheism. But I must argue back, nihilism has nothing to do with atheism. Atheism is like…. math. Simple math. Calculation from 1+1 equals to 2. It portrays nothing, but simply 1+1=2. If it really wanted to prove or show something, it would rather say “because god of math gives us divine rule, 1+1 must equal to something twice bigger than 1… and etc. & etc.” It is simple. simple as possible is what atheism is. Do I need Santa Clause to get Christmas present? Well…. apparently I haven’t got any present from him, manufactured by elves at north pole, transported with burning Rudolf. (WAIT, HAVE YOU?!)

Being atheist is not something that is cooler or better. (Might be better for mental health, though) Why should someone ever care about things won’t affect or intercept your life? Why should I care about fairies in my backyard growing grass in perfect stealth with water I paid? Oh, and yes, it is true. Life is cruel. -R
