Beginning of Ruined World
Mad Tea Party began as “Ruined World” in 2008. The website was under the Apple .Mac(dot-mac) hosting, until MobileMe, a new service succeeded .Mac. After MobileMe was publicly launched, the actual logo and name of “Ruined World” had started being used.
Ruined World had often held the political opinions of minority. Ruined World authors extorted to bring rational ideas and conversation. However, our attempts ended fruitless.
Adoption of WordPress
In 2008, as a result of excessive involvement in an international diplomacy, Ruined World gained some notoriety. Uncontrollable riot flooded the old, out-dated system of Ruined World, proving MobileMe to be incompetent to host our websites. The plan for new website with proper hosting and URL address was formed.
Many of our softwares also required upgrade to take advantage of advances in blogging protocol and technologies. More than half of codes were “ancient artifacts,” written in the era of introductory personal webpage. Entire systems were dependent on decayed databases, deficient to support new applications: for instance, SNS (social network service) integration.
We could not afford time to develop completely new structures from the scratch. The window of options really opened to us was limited. We could either join trends of growing blogging formats, such as blogger, or use open source software. Several plans were built, but we concluded WordPress would last long enough in the market, leading the trends of blogs and webpage building, sparing us time to write our own original codes for it.
After the moving was complete, we decided to call our new websites “Ruined World V2.0.”
Dawn of Mad Tea Party
Damages from the Ruined World V1.0 have left irrefutable impact on the website’s reputation and functionality. For 2 years, the site was in the brink of total meltdown.
Originally “Ruined World” is the name of the stories that had been written by Dorian Gray, had published for short period of times before MobileMe was launched. Ruined World was rater in a shape of book club, when first officially hosted online.
Consequently the idea of Mad Tea Party has risen dramatically after adaption of WordPress as a main. The goal of the website has changed as well, to keep ourselves updated with contemporary works in different fields: literature, IT, economics, politics, and etc.
In the year of 2010, Ruined World has stopped using its own name, and changed into Mad Tea Party. The idea was website must be again opened for public.
Mission Statement
Our goal is to provide information for discussions and debates and bring such topics into the real life. And even with these ideas and opinions, it is our hope that we will exclude any elements of routine, illogical arguments from discussions, to sustain the quality of discussion.
